Our choir has an enviable reputation and is always on the look
out for men, women or children who enjoy singing. Please contact
our Director of Music
Nicholas Scott-Burt, shown left seated at the organ.
St
Andrew’s
has a wonderful acoustic and is an excellent venue for all kinds
of concerts and recitals.

The
organ is a fine 3 manual with ranks dating back to 1664. It has
its origins in an instrument built in 1614, which was largely
re-built in 1915 by Forster and Andrews of Hull.
It supports a fine choral tradition in this town centre church.
Our mixed choir of 25 sings an introit, setting and anthem at
Parish Communion and Evensong every week. The Director of Music,
Nicholas Scott-Burt, is a freelance musician and composer who
regularly delights us with his own compositions and wonderful
renditions of the choral and organ repertoire. He has his own
website at
http://www.nicholasscottburt.co.uk
We are delighted that the organ has been completed rebuilt over
the last 2 years. You can follow the restoration work carried
out by Peter Spencer, our Organ Builder, by clicking here
